Rachael will advocate for students and families in Navajo County. She is dedicated to her students as a reading specialist at Highland Primary School, dedicated to her family, dedicated to the community, and to her Church. She is a personal friend to my family. She has taken the time to tutor my child with disabilities for a couple of years with so much kindness and love to help my child feel achievement and acceptance. I have heard her say more than once she would like to peruse private tutoring but couldn't leave the children in the public school system. She loves them and feels every child needs to be heard, loved, and educated. Rachael is ready to work for the children and families of Navajo County. — Kim Gardner

My son doesn’t connect with adults easily. He hated going to school at first. Until he had Mrs. Lewis as a teacher. She was the perfect balance of care. She understood that he needed something different, but also didn’t change the whole world. She helped him to work with the world, while still valued his unique perspective. He grew so much in maturity and confidence and gained so many traditional classroom skills under her instruction. Even after he left her class she was still part of his learning journey. I have very positive experiences with Mrs. Lewis. She is so amazing with all the kids. My daughter was challenging at times, but she helped fight for her IEP. She cares so much about the students and the district. She would be so amazing at this job. — Alicia Fultz

My daughter had her for first grade. My daughter has some challenges and we struggled with her. But Mrs. Lewis helped us get our daughter loving school and interested in learning. We had a constant open line of communication and worked together to help my daughter. She went above and beyond she truly cares about her students. She is very hands on and gets down on their level to help them at their pace. Something I loved that to this day still helps my daughter is the pop its. She would let my daughter use pop its to fidget with as well as do work with. My daughter has her own style and she always dressed to show Mrs. Lewis. I'd like to endorse Mrs. Rachael Lewis for Navajo County School Superintendent. I've had the opportunity to work with her for the past several years. Rachael has been a big part of my children’s education! We had our first experience with Rachael when she tutored my oldest daughter in reading. She was wonderful! She is now my youngest child’s reading teacher for first grade and she has him well prepared for summer reading, so he doesn’t fall behind.
